SAMUAL GORDON and Newfoundland

I am a new member and will likely make mistakes in my postings so please bear with me.  I am researching the surname GORDON.  Family tradition has it that our GORDON family came from Aberdeen, lingered for a time in Liverpool, and then sailed for Newfoundland.  The earliest known member was SAMUEL GORDON, born between 1750 and 1764 in Newfoundland, died 1829 in Chimney Tickle, Labrador.  He married Anne Pynn in 1794 in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland.  I am looking for information about the parents and siblings of SAMUEL.  Any guidance will be most appreciated.

Although his parents may have originated in Aberdeen - you would need to find his birth/baptismal records in Newfoundland to establish his parents names before you would be able to trace them in any Scottish records.

Would his marriage cert give you any info on his parents?
