According to a couple of sources on the web, Henry / Heinrich KIESEWETTER was born in Hamburg on the 25 March 1845, and came to SA when approx 3 months old and his marriage registration states father John....this could be the birth of a sister.  There are very few KIESEWETTER's on the SA indexes.

Birth
KIESEWETTER Anna Dorothea
14 May 1851
Father Johann Heinrich KIESEWETTER  Mother Johanne Maria Caroline AMMER
Place of birth not recorded   Ade 3/217

Cheers  :)

I suggest you search on

.....snippets about Kathleen's 100th birthday

After quite a search...this is the death of Henry's father, Johann Heinrich KIESEWETTER in Victoria.  He evidently died at Benevolent Asylum in Castlemaine...stated online as quoted from his death certificate.  He is buried in the Castlemaine cemetery.

KIESWETTER Henry
Parents unknown  78 years  born Germany  1877  Reg#723

Thank You all so very much.

My grandmother, (Alma's daughter) is now 91 yrs old and although she knew about some family, she is very excited to find out about any more.

Thanks again
Carna.

P.S. Sorry. Yes Alma was born in 1896.

The Eudunda Heritage Gallery has a wealth of information on all things Eudunda - newspapers, community groups, early families in the area etc, etc.  When I visited they were most helpful.  There is a contact phone number, but limited opening hours so check on the link below.
