Could I have a 1851/1861 lookup in White Notley Essex for Mary Ann and John SODER. They were married in 1846 and one of their daughters, Mary Ann jr was living with grandparents, James and Sarah Brown in White Notley in the 1851 census. Jnr was shown spelt SODA which put me on the wrong trail for a while. They should have a daughter Sarah born 1849 living with them in 1851. Unsure who is in family in 1861 or if they were still in White Notley. The two girls married in the 1870's and I have successfully found them both in the 1881 census.

These all the BROWNs in W Notley, all Folio 431
1861 find Sarah SODER, age 12, in Terling
None of the others.

Thank you for that . Possibly the Soder parents died before 1861 which is why Sarah is living with the Humphreys. And having found the Humphreys, that has answered a query from the 1901 census where a relation was living with a Humphries listed as cousin. Susannah has to be Sarah's aunt. Is it possible to have an 1871 lookup for the same family again - will check the 1881 myself.
