How do I delete index or holding page?

Help please, I really cannot delete the holding page and it is driving me nuts.

Hi Zoe,

Don't think you need to delete it - just use the "index. htm" as your own - put your own data on a page called that and you will overwrite the first page.

Think that's how its done at any rate.  Grin Grin

Hi Zoe,

if you look on your web-site (using your FTP program or the RootsChat FTP file manager you should see a file called index.html

This is the page you see when you load your web-site. Delete this and replace it with your index.html or index.htm and you should then see your web-site contents

PS: just saw Keith's reply, be careful ! he's right in one sense, but -- there's always a but !! --  the holding page is index.html. If you only load your index.htm then, as the browser will always look for index.html first, it won't see your index.htm.  SO, to be on the safe side, delete any index.htm or index.html first, and THEN, load your pages.

PPS: and then put your web-address in your profile, so we can all have a look  Grin  Grin
