 Cheesy   Hi all,

 Could someone please lookup Cox family /ies in Maidenhead, Berks.
  in 1891.   Loads of thank you's for that itself.

  But if there is the spelling for, I believe, Cordwallis Road / Street.
  I might find Denmark Terrace.           Cornwallis/Cordwallis/Corbrallis.....

  The spellings differ on Marriage cert/Death cert/ LDS site.

  This may be where all the different "roots" have been going all over the place.

   Got no definate ages,  but looking at COX ~ Fred's  William's  Ralph  Percy.
        Florrie     Freda    Beatrice.   
   
     I now the family/ies were there, but when and which house. We don't.
       Grandad only partially remembers the people but uncles could be brothers etc;

      Cheesy  Please help me find the Cox families in Cordwallis Road, Maidenhead 1891.

                   Grandad is certain his family lived there, but I can't even find the street   
         let  alone people.  I know the road is named Cordwallis and I've tried all the spellings I can think of....argh.   I have 2 days to get it right.  Cry
                             Anybody got info on 1891. or 1871 ...or...

On 1901 I found at Aldfield Road, Maidenhead

Fredrick Cox age 30 bn cwell, surrey, england
Margaret age 36 bn cardiff
Ralph percy age 5 bn maidenhead
frederick william age 7 bn maidenhead

could this be the right people?  I'll keep looking for the street...

Thanks for looking. That one should read, Oldfield Road, Its down the other end of Maidenhead, and I believe that Frederick, aged 7, is Grandad's dad.

Which then takes us out of Maidenhead to Ewell then on to Essex. Of course all this is going backwards through time.  Huh

But he is adament. He also has a watercolour picture of a soldier wearing a bearskin, big furry hat?? and says the soldier is a lieut col retired. He believes that soldier to be his dad.

                  I just cannot get anything to connect him to this.

Just to clarify Lesanne, there is a Cordwallis Road, a Cordwallis Street and a Denmark Street in Maidenhead, all very close to one another. The area now backs on to a small industrial estate.  The houses are relatively small in terraces of late Victorian date.  Narrow road - and the parking is terrible!  Maidenhead did not have any barracks but it is only 5 miles from Windsor, which, of course, has two.

 Cheesy Yep, All that is right. Parking could be described as horrendous!!!!
It's not that far from the town centre, about 15 mins walk.

Have you managed to find the right spelling, or even family Cox.  Cheesy

 Cheesy  Hi Nell and everybody,       I have found new spelling, it's Cornwalles Rd.
                                                                                                              Str, Denmark str.

                There is also a new Rootschat member looking for the same family.

                 COX - A retired Lieut colonel, with a young wife Eugenia. This has been spelt
                  hundred's of ways.

                   Has anyone access to 1891 census for Maidenhead (cookham).

                       I shall post on look up too.
