Alfred and Arthur Cole

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help. My father has told me that one of his uncles emigrated to SA possibly to work on the railway. The problem is he does'nt know which one!!

They are

Alfred Cole born about 1883
Arthur Cole born about 1899

both born in London and I know both were still in England in 1901. I know this is a long shot but nothing ventured nothing gained.

Alfred has a middle initial of W

Arthur has a middle initial of either H or A (I can't make out the handwriting properly!!)

How does Alfred William Cole sound - died in 1950 born in Battersea. What is the 1901 census info for the family say? I can look it up if you can give me a few more details.

That sounds great  the 1901 census has he down as follow

Alfred W Cole 18 years old railway labourer born LOndon Battersea.

I think this may be my great uncle.
