I am interested in the YORKE surname in and around
Dean & Yelden areas.
Would any be found in the 1841, 1851 Census for these villages?

Hi Carole,
As far as I can ascertain Yelden and Dean fall in this area for the 1851 Census:
Melchbourn-Folio 73-91
I have the images for the 1851 Census but no index, the only York(e) I can find is as follows:
HO 107/1751 Bedford
Melchbourn-Folio 73-91
Page 13 Schedule 66
Alice York Head Widow 68 Cottager N'hants Holwell
William York Son Married 27 Cottager's Son Beds Yelden
Hannah York Daug in law 21 Son's Wife Beds Knotting
Thomas Wagstaff Grandson 7 Scholar Beds Yelden
The images are not very good, there is a bit of a squiggle on the end of "York" but I don't think it constitutes an "e".
These are the only "York(e)'s" I can find in the immediate area, I haven't looked further, as the images are so poor, perhaps somebody with the index can look for you.
