Hei Ange,
Griffiths Valuation - Cavan 1856-1857 http://www.failteromhat.com/cavan.htm
I think in a case like this you will need a bit of luck on your side. Bradys appear in practically every parish in Cavan. Connollys appear in fewer of the parishes. I feel a good starting point in this type of search would be to hope that the name Michael runs in the family i.e. grandfather, father and then Michael.
Michael Connolly, Kivvy, Annagh Michael Connolly, Daggan, Castletarra Michael Connolly, Cornacarrow, Drumgoon Michael Connolly, Kilclogha, Drumgoon Michael Connolly, Knockateane, Drumgoon Michael Connolly, Munnilly, Drumgoon Michael Connolly, Dring, Kildallan
Best Wishes,
Christopher

Hei Ange,
I noticed your Saltaire. Are you by any chance located somewhere in Scotland ?
I feel your Connollys and Bradys are somewhere in the townlands of Co. Cavan. I checked through the Directory just in case they might be in a town. The Connollys certainly appear to be in the countryside. The information that I'm giving you is well before the time Michael and Rose were born. I'll see if I can find some more Bradys and Connollys who may be able to provide a bit more information.
1860 Directory of Belfast and Province of Ulster - Co. Cavan
Bailieborough Brady, James, boot and shoe maker, Market Street. Brady, J., spirit dealer, Market Square.
Cavan Town Brady, Peter, Cock and Punch Bowl Tavern, Church Street. Brady, Philip, publican, Main Street. Brady, Stephen, saddler, Bridge Street.
Cootehill Brady, James, carpenter, Bridge Street. Brady, John, grocer, Market Street. Brady, Patrick, lodgings, Market Street. Brady, Andrew, boot and shoe maker, Cavan Street. Brady, Patrick, cooper, Market Street.
The Cavan people at this site are the dignitaries of the County. It might be worth a look through the names. http://www.lennonwylie.co.uk/PDAntrim.htm#COUNTY%20OF%20CAVAN
Do a Google Search - Brady Cavan Newspaper Abstracts. This will show you a lot of sites of articles from the Anglo Celt, a newspaper published in Co. Cavan. I had two choices there. I took the easy option, the alternative was to quote a load of URLs
Best Wishes, Christopher

Phillip Connolly and Rose Brady were my great grandparents. Married in the Roman Catholic chapel in Scott's House in Clones County Monaghan Ireland on 16 Feb 1871, the parish of Curran. He was the son of Michael Connolly and Mary Murphy and she was the daughter of Thomas Brady and Joanne Rudden...Neither could read or write and both made mark when married....The Brady house is still located on top the hill next to the query in Monaghan.....They are buried in Brockton Massachusetts in calvary.....He died in 1922 and she died when I was in the first grade.......my father would take me to visit her and I was named after her.....Rose.......Michael was born on the ship when they sailed to America in 1871.....They could not spell and the name in America was Connolly and Conley. He had two brothers one went to Texas and the other to Australia.... They only had one daughter Mary who died after her father in 1922. They had a son Phillip, Owen (my grandfather) John and Michael. I have a lot more information........my email is (*)......I hope you get this information Ange!

Ange! I hope you got the information I posted about Rose & Phillip.........MY GREAT GRANDPARENTS................I was told they came from Cavan but later found out it was on the border of Cavan and Monaghan in Aghnaskew.....My great grandparents were married in the parish of Curran.....I have visited Ireland 22 times because I was in the travel business.......I know that Monaghan had 3 Connolly families all in Agnaskew......I was told as a child that my great grandmother Rose Brady lived at the top of the hill and my great grandfather lived at the bottom........I found the hill and the Brady home........Did any of your Brady family live in Massachusetts or Vermont?

Hi Rose Marie So sorry , I took a break from the family history as i was getting nowhere fast ! Thankyou so much for your reply . All these connollys and bradys , what a coinsidence . Michael Connolly and Rose Brady were my Nanas great grandparents . Their son came to Scotland looking for work (james) . Have no idea if any of the family went to America as my Nana is not too chuffed about me looking into the past , she seems to think nothing good will come of it . This of course is making me even more curious ! I am now going to pursue the links Christopher gave me and I will keep you posted . All the very best Ange

I am looking for a Margaret Connolly from County Cavan who married a Michael Monaghan. Margaret was born circa 1841. They lived in Bailieborough where my grandmother, Annie Monaghan was born in 1880. Michael Monaghan died Circa 1895. Margaret remarried a man named Brady (Patrick or Michael?). Would you have any connection?
