I have MS Publisher on this PC and a quick look shows it can do webpages. Would this programme be compatible with uploading to RootsChat free pages?

Hi genlistlass,
Welcome to RootsChat
Try it and see !
Create your web pages, and then look at it off-line. It should all be together in one directory (or folder). (see: TIP: Viewing and Editing your web-site at http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,47483.0.html )
There should be a file index.htm or index html in your directory
If you like what you see, delete the index.html on your RootsChat webspace and upload the whole directory
Final step: enter the address in your profile, and PM JonathanW (see: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,23896.0.html )
Good luck, Bob

Hi Is there anyone out there who has used MS Publisher to create web pages for rootschat - it would be good to see finished results. I am trying to work out if/how I can include my gedcom tree in publisher designed site.
I have found that publisher is quite simple to follow, but I dont want to go too far down that road until I am sure it will include the tree!
Any thoughts would be appreciated - keep them simple for me please - I need an idiots guide with all instructions!!
Thanks folks

genlist, I was answering saz's post. As I said publisher is fine for static pages. It would not be my preference as it doe not produce very good html, but for a simple site its probably fine, just make sure you do not use the Frontpage extensions with out checking with Trystan they are supported

Thanks Jane I need an idiots guide on everything, so wanted advice before I started down the publisher route. Trystan has uploaded a simple prog to my web page so I think I'll stick with it - sounds like it will be better than publisher.
Many thanks for replying - I do ask some stupid questions sometimes I know - but I am learnin and I'll get this page set up eventually. (was going to say I'll be old & grey b4 I do - but I got there already!!!)
Thanks again Jane
