Hello, I use legacy. Once you have created your web pages, which are usually in the c:\legacy\web folder then all you need to do is copy them to your web site. You have a few choices here. In the old days, I used to use ftp, but it used to complain after about 3000 pages, and just fail. So, if you have frontpage installed as part of your Windows package, it is much easier to use this . Basically, legacy just creates a series of htm/html pages; i.e. lots of web pages. All you need to do with these is copy them onto your server area. Best Kevan

Hi Trystan, Yes you are right, frontpage does add extra stuff (i.e. it uses extra space), but I find ftp programs take control of the entire computer whilst uploading. Just to explain, to the non-techies - ftp means file transfer protocol - which basically means you are copying just the file from your c: drive to the website. Whereas frontpage allows you to copy the files from your c: drive to an open presentation of your web site which appears to be running on your c: drive once logged in (and adds lots of extra files in the background that you do not need to worry about, apart from the extra space required) Frontpage is a pain, I agree, but when copying usung ftp software, all other processes on your computer take second place. So, for example, if you want to check your mail whilst uploading using ftp, you can't. This is my experience, anyway.
I use WS_FTP_LE which was a download from some time ago, not sure if it is still free. I hate microsoft products, but frontpage seems to own the market, and is used everywhere, if you have access to a copy then I recommmend you use it (space limitations are an important option here).
That's it really, you use the preferred option of your choice. Best Kevan
