Hi Guys
I'm struggling to find a GRO Index number so I can buy a birth certificate.
The person in question is Albert Reginald SMITH. I have his birth date on his death certificate to be 09 Dec 1923 but my Father thinks that he could be a year older than that.
I think he was born in the Duddington area. His Father was Reginald Smith
I have searched the indexes online and cannot seem to find an Albert R anywhere between 1822 - 1824.
Anyone got any other ideas.
Thanks
Paul

Is it possible he could be the Albert R Smith reg March 1924 in Stamford ref 7a 557 mothers maiden name Vernum?
As his birth was so near the end of the year and they had 6 weeks to register the birth, they often got left till the beginning of Jan therefore appearing in the March quarter.
Regards
Carol

Hello and thanks for the responses.
Ruth: He was definately an Albert.
Carol: Thankyou very much, that one looks good, I never found it when I looked The only way to be sure would be to find a marriage around that time between Reginald Smith and a spouse Vernum.
I don't suppose you could have a look for me Carol?
Thanks again ladies for your time.
Kind regards
Paul
