Lawrence & Catherine Scott

Hi,

I have a Catherine Scott who was born around 1841 at Walls, Shetland. Catherine married Robert Jefferson at Tynemouth in 1866, and from her marriage certificate I know her father was a mason called Lawrence Scott. I'm looking for advice on how I can find out more about this family. Thanks.

A quick glance at www.bayanne.info/Shetland shows a number of Catherine Scotts including a few born at Walls.
There are also a number of Laurence Scotts (Laurence with a "U"). It might be worth looking at these hits to see if any match your requirements.

hi paul,

been over this and over this, i know that the census say fisherman/farmer and do not relate to your mason. i have visited the igi's on several occansions and still come up with the same family!!!
