My grandfather was Herbert Tomalin who i believe was born in the Peckham area sometime between 1880 and 1900. Can someone please find him in the 1901 census.

Not a lot of luck with the info given.
In 1901 there are only 3 exact matches for Herbert Tomalin :-
7 yr old born leyton Essex
10 yr old from gayton Northants
19 yr old from London (who claims his birthplace as Hammersmith in 1891)
There are almost 200 variants e.g Thomlin/Tomlin, but none who state their birthplace as Peckham. I think you need to work back gradually on what you know. It would be useful to find his marriage cert. which would give you a better idea of his age and his father's name?

thankyou for the info
could you possibly post the 7 year old from West Ham's details please........I didn't actually know that he was born in Peckham...only that he married? and lived in Peckham....and assumed possibly he was born there......their first born child was born about 1922.
