Hello -
I have the following 1881 census info on my relatives:

Frances Roberts, Wife, 27, Llanelly, Carmarthen, Wales, Coal Miner’s Wife

John D. Roberts, Son, 5, Aberdare, Glamorgan, Wales, Scholar
G. May Roberts, Daughter, 3, Aberdare, Glamorgan, Wales
Martin Luther Roberts, Son, 1, Aberdare, Glamorgan, Wales

If anyone can find census information for David J. Roberts in 1861 and 1871 and possibly a marriage record for David and Frances, it would be most appreciated.

Hi,
There's a marriage on the free BMD website for a David John Roberts and a Frances Williams, listed under the same volume and page number as each other .
You'll find them under the reg district Merthyr Tydfil , Glamorgan in the March quarter 1874 , 11a 610 ( which I would guess it is probably them as all their kids are born in Aberdare according to the above 1881 census info ) .
There are 3 David Roberts around about 17/18 yrs old born and living in Llanelli in the 71 census that I can see with a quick search ( all are sons of the various households) and a couple more who are living in Llanelli, but born elsewhere in Carmarthenshire.
Have you any parents names for your David Roberts, or any of his siblings names? It will help rootschatters to narrow it down a bit to which one maybe yours in the 71 census.

Thanks for your quick response... Unfortunately I don't have any information yet about David's family. The G. May Roberts (Guzela), age 3, is my great grandmother, who I've been tracing backwards from her life here in the U.S. The family emmigrated to the U.S. in 1884 and the 1881 census is the only information I have in Wales so far.
The marriage of David John Roberts and Frances Williams in 1874 looks like a winner. Can you find anything on Frances Williams in 1861 and 1871? Also, I'd be curious to see the three possible records for David - maybe we can figure something out.

Thank you very much for doing the lookups for me. I guess my next step will be to request the marriage certificates to verify that we have the right families.
