I am trying to find birth, marriage and parents details for Robert McLeod and Isabella Black.
Their children were:
James - 09/07/1839, Tarves, Aberdeen, Scotland
Robert - Christened 30/04/1841 Methlick, Aberdeen, Scotland
William Black - Christened 26/11/1844 Methlick, Aberdeen, Scotland
Elizabeth - Christened 26/11/1844 Methlick, Aberdeen, Scotland
Isabel - 21/01/1847 Methlick, Aberdeen, Scotland
Alexander - 23/03/1849 Methlick, Aberdeen, Scotland
John - 21/09/1850 Methlick, Aberdeen, Scotland

Hi Anne F,
Your best bet, is to find Isabellas Death. Do you have any of the marriages of the children?
If you do, then it will say whether mum and dad are alive or dead.
Go for the death of Isabella first, you can search for Black and also McLeod. the indexes are crossreferenced.

52 yrs, died of cancer.
father John Black, farmer, deceased.
mother Christian Ross, domestic servant, deceased.
informant was husband Robert McLeod, farm servant.
