Thomas MAXWELL 1800s Aberdeen
« on: Friday 29 April 05 10:29 UTC (UK) »

Thomas was a Mariner and was thought to have left Scotland in the company of at least two other relatives after 1810
He may have been involved in the Whaling industry and been aboard the Barque "Harriet"
Weve assumed he had previous history in connection to the following names;
Sarah, John, Robert, George, James, Patrick, Andrew

He had knowledge of Shipbuilding and milling timber.
His relatives are thought to have stayed behind at different ports enroute for Australia and New Zealand.He was a succesful early trader in NZ and owned some beautiful Islands and quite alot of land

Thomas was "missing presumed drowned"when his ship the "Sarah Maxwell" didnt return from a trading voyage within NZ waters in 1842. We his NZ descendants have been trying to establish what his earlier Scottish history was
