Hello Friends,
I am trying to find any information on a "CHARLES EDWARD HARGREAVES", who came from Staffordshire and arrived in Melbourne. He married Marion Elsie Longmire 10/Dec/1938 at St. John's Footscray.
Charles's brother also emigrated and lived in Melbourne. His name was "ROBERT HARGREAVES". Robert's wife's name was Jane (do not know her maiden name, they married in England). If any one could help in any way I would be very appreciated.

Hi Wendy,
These are entries in the Victorian telephone
directory and as you can see there are not
very many people by the name of Longmire
so it's possible to write to them all and ask
if they have any connection to Marion.
I have found this often works in finding a
lost ancestors.

Hi Wendy,
Here is the death of Marion from the Victorian death index, 1921-1985.
*HARGREAVES Marion Elsie, father Longmire Geo Wm, mother Marion RICHARDSON, died age 35 at West Footscray, 1949 #2121
What were the names of the parents of Charles Edward HARGREAVES and Robert HARGREAVES. If you have these I will look again as parents' names (if known) are listed in the index.

The National Archives of Australia have a Charles Hargreaves who served in WW2.

shadrach, thankyou for all the "Longmires" that you have given me out of the Melbourne Telephone book. It must of taken you a long time to do that for me, I am so very grateful, thankyou. I have a few letters to write now. 
gennig, thankyou for the info from the National Archives of Australia as the "Charles Hargreaves" that you found, is the correct one. He only severed in the Army for a very short time and I was told he served up in Darwin evacuating the people out. ( I am not quite sure how I could find out if that was correct or not)
jap, thankyou again also.
Charles Edward Hargreaves and Robert Hargreaves parents were
"Robert George Hargreaves" & "Sarah Louisa (ALLEN) Hargreaves". They never left England. Robert George Hargreaves was born in 1874 in Staffordshire he married Sarah Louisa Allen in 1898 in Newcastle Under Lyme. The 2 main addresses that I have for Robert, Sarah and their 4 children were
21 Wilson Street and 13 Foden Street both in Newcastle Under Lyme.
Once again I want to say how much I appreciate all you help. It you ever come across any other info I would love to hear from you.
