need help with my website please

I have been trying to create my website. Everything seemed to be going well until I updated my index page and when I went to look at it, it remained the old one. I also noticed in my remote site files there were 2 index files one with Index and one index. What am I doing wrong. This is my url
http://nzgenealogy.rootschat.net/  I even tried typing index.html after it but it is still the old one.
