To help fellow researchers I've listed some on-line databases and some museums with professional research services.
Please don't post search requests to this post, instead start a new topic.
Happy hunting, riley

Hocken’s Lists http://www.ngaiopress.com/drhocken.htm In an appendix to his 1898 book, 'Contributions to the Early History of New Zealand (Otago)’, Dr Hocken published lists of passenger arrivals from vessels despatched from Great Britain to the Settlement of Otago, between 1847 and 1850. These ships arrived at Port Chalmers between March 1848 and January 1851. Hocken gave additional information about what some individuals did between their arrival and 1898. He also noted where some individuals were living in 1898.
Otago Nominal Index to 1876 http://marvin.otago.ac.nz/oni/default.html The index holds over 241,000 records from Electoral Rolls, Street Directories and Police Gazettes for Otago and Southland.

Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand Archives. http://archives.presbyterian.org.nz/ Includes on-line marriage indexes for a variety of areas and a Register of Ministers. Thanks to Karen Donnelly Quinn for the reference.
The West Coast of the South Island was the site of a gold rush in the 1860’s and the region's population exploded. Many Kiwi’s can trace an ancestor back to the West Coast. There were two ports of arrival, Greymouth and Hokitika, both of which have very good museums with research facilities:
The West Coast Historical Museum PO Box 171 Hokitika 7900 New Zealand Email: hokimuseum@xtra.co.nz
History House Museum in Greymouth http://www.history-house.co.nz/
Find your Family on the Internet. A New Zealand Guide. by Ros Henry. Longacre Press 2005 ISBN 1 877361 09 7 SB 152pp Price: NZ$29.95. This book will help genealogists make the most of online resources. The author has experience with all the sites mentioned and provides evaluations, advice, and examples of information provided. Sites are not exclusive to New Zealand and include search engines, census, pay to view and government databases, message-boards, etc. The United States, Canada, Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales and Australia are also covered, making this a very thorough reference with international application. Many pages have sidebars providing advice and examples. Very highly recommended.

Hey there guys, this website is a little gem as well...

And we mustn't forget about PEARL'S PAD. Thankfully her brilliant website is back online again as at April 2006 after the sad loss of it's creator, Pearl Wilson.
