1851/1861 census Argyllshire (Morvern?) Samuel MCKECHNIE
« on: Saturday 07 May 05 18:16 UTC (UK) »

Hi all

I am trying to find Sameul MCKECHNIE born in Argyll, Scotland apparently 1836 according to his marriage cert for 1862.  1881 says he is from Argyll aged 55 and a farmer.  He was ag lab in 1862 in Shotts, Lanarkshire.  Tried 1861 in Lanarkshire and cannot find him.  Wondering if he is still in Argyllshire.  His parents were James MCKECHNIE (ships carpenter) and Margaret JOHNSTON both deceased by 1862.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

John Rowley

Hi joekar

Thanks for the info.  That is indeed my direct line!  I think he married twice but could not find him in the early census info.
