Just an interesting thought, how much time do we spend online researching family history?
I spent all my spare 3 days researching often up to 6 hours a day sometimes.
Thoughts and comments welcome .....
Let voting commence!

Hi I honestly daren't count up the hours I spend doing family research, I think I'd even scare myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It always starts with the thought 'Oh, I have a few minutes to spare, I think I'll................................' and I'm still here hours later, with a layer of dust on the house! OOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anne

Well I always think I'll research MY family and update the records I've kept but... I'll just look at my messages first. Then I'll look at Rootschat and....2 hours later I think I'd better clean this or clean that.
Then in the late afternoon I try again and the same thing happens.
It is difficult to say how long I'm researching my own family.

I don't know exactly, but the answer would have to be.....hours and hours and hours and hours!!!
I usually switch the PC on when I get back from taking the children to school. I check my emails, then go to Rootschat, which is lethal!!!! At the same time I log in to MSN Messenger and am still searching and chatting when it is time to go and pick the children up from school at 3.15pm!!!!!!!!!

silly me are we supposed to do something else other than family history
my family think I am surgically attached to computor, and that every house has files and bits of paper everywhere, hope no one ever tells them the truth

I usually get home from work, take off my coat, and just check my emails, then... some kind of force takes over and I find myself on Rootschat, but it's very difficult to concentrate when everyone insists on discussing what to eat! When I do stop for dinner, I panic that one of my son's might finish first and beat me to the computer - I seem to eat a lot quicker these days. Once back online, I'm there till bed time. I daren't add up the hours.
