Hi
I have BALLS family from Norfolk living at 5 Wellington Street Precinct of the Savoy in 1871 and 1881 census.  George is a Coffee House Keeper

George b.1833 Norwich
Wfe Emma b. 1840 Exeter, Devon.
Children Adelaide Jane b.1860
George James b.1862
Stephen A (Augustus?) b.1866
Robert L b.1870
Narborough Makepeace  b.1872 (in my husband's line ggf)
Harry Lancaster b.1875

Also in 7 Wellington Street Narborough BALLS b.c.1840 Norfolk.  His marriage cert in 1893 states father Stephen occ. Mason deceased. Narborough runs a hotel next to the Lyceum in the 1871.

Nothing to prove George and Narborough are brothers as I can't find (yet) George's marriage to Emma to see if Stephen is George's father.

Trying to trace the rest of George's siblings.  What was the occupation of your James ?

Hi Sandra
Just checked on multimap and Irstead looks to be between Norwich and Yarmouth - Stephen Balls was in the 1841 census for Yarmouth.
Do you have James and Bathsheba's marriage cert ?  The witnesses are usually a good clue as to rellies.

I haven't come across a Samuel in my travels yet.  Do you have any other siblings for your James or any more info on father Samuel ?
