Did Ambrose HEDGES come from Wantage ?

Good morning.

Further to my topic of yesterday, one source for the 1861 Census indicates Wantage as where he was born. I have my doubts personally, but if anyone has access to the Wantage PR's I would be grateful if a check could be made to see if there is a trace of his baptism or birth in or around 1806.

I have subsequently checked Batch Numbers with no result. There appears to be a Robert & Ann HEDGES in Wantage about the right time, but who were married in 1807 (but transcription by a member of the LDS so ......!)

Thanks in advance for any help on this sscore.

No sign of Ambrose.

Robert HEDGES otp married Ann MILES otp 26 Oct 1807 after Banns, witnesses Richard MILES and Joseph STEVENS.

Children William and Harriot.

There were HEAVENS in Wantage as well.
