Good morning, I've just had breakfast and their is snow outside.

I have no references because about 10 years ago I found a transcript of the whole 1851 census on the web. John Hovell is wrongly spelt Hansell but I noted the Artis as it was unusual. (Incidentally I frequently have no references because I started doing this before the age of computers and actually looked at the registers in Norwich). Without looking at my notes I remember that they were at that time in Heigham (the sort of new town outside the city walls). And if I remember rightly the Artis's seemed to emigrate to the US of A to the Mormons.

I'll see if I can find the Colgate census on my computer - I had a bad crash about 5 years ago and didn't retrieve everything, but I did have a print out. May be if you google census 1851 Colgate you'll find it. (Incidentally you know that the "gate" ending means "street" in the Danish part of the city.

However I don't know if I can attach pages on Roots, though maybe that is answered in your last reply which I will experiment with later.
