  tHE 1871 CENSUS GIVES PLACE OF BIRTH FOR MARY WILKES -NEE HUGHES BORN 1838 AS NUCKIN SHROPSHIRE, IS THERE OR WAS THERE SUCH A PLACE. AS I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND HER BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR MARRIAGE TO EDWARD WILKES IN  C 1858/59
ANY HELP OR ADVICE PLEASE

 I "googled" it and there are 624 references to Knocking Oswestry.   Also, found Nuckin/Nucking Shropshire.
