Just had a look at the 1881 - thanks Tsu .. found them now as 'Crookshank' with ages for George - 40 and Caroline - 38. By 1891 their ages are - George 39 and Caroline 38!

So looks like the correct ages in the 1891. Still can't find a birth registration for Caroline (jnr). I wonder whether she was actually named Caroline or just known as Caroline (after her mother) as Tsu said, maybe a middle name? My granddad was known throughout his life as Jack, his name was actually John Thomas!

Hello all - once again I require some further assistant please.
I'm still trying unsuccessfully to find a birth record for my great grandmother Caroline Cruckshank (married name Humphreys, marriage took place in 1904) who according to the 1901 census was born in Camberwell, London in about 1882. I cannot find a record of her birth anywhere. I know her mother’s maiden name was Burley but unsure of where/when she was born. I can’t find a marriage for her parents either (father was George). I did find out that her sister was indeed Annie Elizabeth and born in a workhouse in Camberwell (this is where I got their mother's maiden name from). I have tried every variation of the surname (of which there are many). Where do I go next please?
