Hi

there is a Ann Donnelly on the old Bailey website-

2079. ANN DONNELLY was indicted for stealing, on the 17th of October , 1 handkerchief, value 3s., the goods of Adolphus Van Speigel , from his person .

ADOLPHUS VAN SPEIGEL. I hold a situation in the Treasury . At a quarter-past twelve o'clock last Monday night, I was in Regent-street ; I had a handkerchief in my pocket- an officer told me I had lost it; he had it in his possession, and pointed out the prisoner to me.

JOHN BURKE. I am an officer. I saw the prosecutor and another gentleman near the Fire-office - they passed me, and the prisoner pulled the prosecutor's handkerchief partly out; some persons then came by, and she stopped; she then pulled it again - they then went on to the Quadrant, where she pulled it right out, folded it up, and put it into her bosom: I took her to the prosecutor, and told him of it.(Property produced, and sworn to.)

Prisoner. My father and mother are both dead; I have not a friend in the world.

GUILTY . Aged 20. - Transported for Fourteen Years .

not sure if its the one you are looking for as in 1831 and another one below

1213. ANN DONELLY was indicted for stealing, on the 29th of May , 1 sieve, value 1s., and 4 gallons of gooseberries, value 1s. 6d. , the goods of William Rubergall .

WILLIAM RUBERGALL . I am a salesman , at Covent-garden market . Last Saturday, about eight o'clock in the morning, I lost a sieve full of gooseberries off my stand - I took it off the prisoner's head at the corner of Russell-street; she said a woman asked her to carry it out of the market for her.

Prisoner. Q. Did you ever see me take any thing from your stand? A. Yes, several times, and have let you go.

Prisoner's Defence. I was coming down King's-street, and met a woman with this in her hand - I said,"They are very good ones, and I will have half a sieve;" I told him where the woman was.

GUILTY . Aged 36. - Confined One Month .

There is no Ann Donolley(spelt differently to the above) listed on the old Bailey for the year you are looking for

Hi

Ann Donnelly was tried at the Middlesex quarter sessions in 1834, held at Clerkenwell. The Old Bailey (Central Criminal Court) was one of the many criminal courts held in the London area. As an assize court it was the most important, but there were also various quarter session courts and petty sessions (magistrates courts, in London called Police Courts).
Middlesex quarter sessions records are not online. The records are held at the London Metropolitan Archives.

You could try to see whether her crime was reported in a local newspaper, some of which are online.

Others can be accessed free if you are a member of a local library since local authority libraries often to buy into a historical newspaper package and you can access online - see for example what is available to library members in Essex
