I know about his parents and siblings etc
just wanted to find more about HIM.
How would I find out which school he went to or who he worked for?
Once again, many thanks for your time.

You know from 1901 census posted Ambrose ocupation Painter and from his Army Pension Service record occcupation Glazier & where he was living  1918, ‘19 & ‘20 from Electoral Register & that he died 1962 Essex age 77

You could order his death certificate from GRO, this would give his address, occupation, name of informant etc.  –  see on reply 7

Do you have access to censuses info. etc. ?

We cannot do lookups 1911 census but the free search shows the STACEY family living in Rochford Essex  Ambrose (1884) , Kate (1888) & Louise (1910) this census may give you more information about his occupation & possibly who he worked for

A bit more from his ASPR - he was discharged in consequence of  K.R. 392 (xxv) although fit for civilian employment

Military Character very good, he was clean, sober, honest & respectful of his superiors. Employed as a cook during the greater part of his service and has always given his heart to this work. He acknowledges he rec’d all pay & allowances dated 24/3/1917 signed A B Stacey, discharge was confirmed 27/3/1917

24 May 1917 received a War Badge & Certificate in respect of his service as 5509
5 E Surrey his address 58 Ash Grove Hackney

http://www.1914-1918.net/grandad/swb.htm

The Silver War Badge ………. discharged from the army under King's Regulations. Expiry of a normal term of engagement did not count and the most commonly seen KR is 392…….
(xxv) His services being no longer required

You could search the Trade Directories in the area that he was living you could check out Electoral Registers for Essex area this would give you his address and maybe something further to work on

Good luck  Smiley
