Missing SILVESTERS on 1881 census
« on: Friday 03 February 12 22:28 GMT (UK) »

I am hoping someone can help me find Alice and Francis Frederick Silvester in the 1881 census. They married on the 19th March 1871 at St Thomas's, Stepney, Middlesex. Francis Silvester was born in 1850 in St George in the East and Alice Rumsey was born in 1844 also in St George in the East. I have found them on the 1871 census living at 48 Charles St, St George in the East and cannot find them on a census after this. I have found a baptism record for a son David James who was baptised on the 1st June 1881 in St George in the East so they were still living in the area. Their address on this record is 18 Morris Street.

Would it be possible for someone to look up this address on the 1881 census and tell me who was living there.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Karenlee,

Thank you so much for finding this family for me. No wonder I could not find them.

And thank you also for the two Baptisms. I did not have them either.

Many many thanks

Thanks Karenlee I did not have that marriage.

I think I may have found the family on the 1891 census only Frances Frederick is now called John Silvester. They don't make it easy do they.

Thanks again

I did see that... it all fits except for the father's name being John. Shocked

Maybe that is not the correct family on the 1891 census as the ages of John and Alice are way out. John or Frances would have been 41 years old and Alice 47.
