Afternoon all Grin
I decided to check out the site.......Lo,and behold!!!,I think Ive got one....Henry davidson,20,mason.Dunoon.
He was pinched in cowal,twice....in 1866-,and  in 1867,both for breach of peace,d&d,Assault Roll Eyes,Silly bugger,probably been on "The Turps"!!!!
  Sadly,thats all  Ive found on him Sad
Anyone have any idea about the distance from dunoon to cowal?or any interesting building happening in the area at the time? or suggestions.

Cowal is the name given to the peninsula where Dunoon is situated. Dunoon is only 11 miles from Inverary

Hi all Cowalites, or those with aspirations,
                          As far as I can see, and of course, not wishing to pick nits etc., but on my map, it´s 23 miles from Dunoon to Inveraray as the proverbial crow flies, but 39 if you are so unfortunate as to have to use the road.

 Embarrassed   oops, forgot to add the last 2 segments of the journey .......

I should have remembered that any way, having broken down on that road about 1 am on  a very wet night.
