I would greatly appreciate a lookup in the 1841 census for Hilton, Huntingdonshire for:
LINTON (or Lenton), John LINTON, Mary
I think they would be in their 60's, but that's just a guess. Just for info, their children were:
LINTON, William born abt 1798 in Hilton LINTON, Jonas born abt 1800 in Hilton (in Boxworth, Cambridgeshire in 1841) LINTON, Lydia born abt 1802 in Hilton (daughter Ann born in 1823 in Hilton) LINTON, Sarah born abt 1807 in Hilton LINTON, Elizabeth born abt 1808 in Hilton LINTON, Mary born abt 1812 in Hilton LINTON, John born abt 1819 in Hilton LINTON, Robert born abt 1819 in Hilton LINTON, Susanna born abt 1821 in Hilton
Thank you!

I'm afraid that I couldn't see a single Linton/Lenton in Hilton in 1841.
Sorry!
David

David, thank you so much for looking - at least I know they must have moved on by then! One baby step at a time, this genealogy thing!
Thanks again!

David, would it be too much trouble to ask you to have a look for them in Alconbury cum Weston, Huntingdonshire? That's where Jonas was married, so perhaps the whole family moved there? If it's too much trouble, please don't go out of your way. Just another shot in the dark!
Thank you.

HO107/450/02 Folio 6A Alconbury Weston Ann Lenton 35 Sarah Lenton 12 John Lenton 10 All born in Hunts
Not sure if this helps as she wasn't on your wish list!
Any other possibilities? Sitting here with a glass of wine in one hand and the mouse in the other!

Thank you, David! They don't fit in at the moment, but you just never know down the road. Looks like she might have been a widow, and her husband could have been my William, John or Robert. Time will tell. I don't know where to look for them now though - perhaps some of them moved to Cambridgeshire like Jonas did. You just never know!
Wine in one hand, mouse in the other - sounds like a perfect combination to me! Thanks again, David, for all your time and trouble. Very, very much appreciated!

Wine in David = good Wine in keyboard = trip to garage to find spare
Pleasure and pleasure don't mix!
It's odd as in 1861 I can't see any Linton/Lenton born in Hilton. Did all of the males you mention die prior to 1861 (I'm assuming the females married so wouldn't show up in a search).
Have you been able to locate any of them in later censuses?
regards
David

Hi, David! The only one I've been able to find in later censuses is Jonas LINTON. He was in Boxworth, Cambridgeshire in 1841 and 1851 and died in 1860. I know he was in Alconbury cum Weston in 1820 and his first child was born there in 1821. The next child was born in Boxworth in 1824.
I have no idea if his brothers passed away before 1861 and I can't remember if I looked for them in the 1861 census on Ancestry.com the last time I had their 7-day subscription.
The surname was sometimes spelled "LENTEN" as well. Thanks so much for your interest, David, but please, please don't go out of your way on this one.
Thank you for all your trouble.
