'Young League Helpers'
« on: Saturday 14 May 05 19:57 BST (UK) »

I am in possession of a badge/brooch which I think belonged to my grandmother or grandfather.  The engraving on the front of the badge reads 'Young League Helpers'.  Does anyone have any iknowledge of what this was.

There has been no response to this query when posted on the General message board.  Maybe the 'Young League Helpers' has a more local connection  (around the Cleveland area)

Any help much appreciated.       Smiley

Hello- I've never actually come across this before but have found out that Dr Barnardo's  had a "young helpers league" whereby more fortunate children would help to raise funds for the charities homes & work. This league was founded in 1891 by Dr Barnado himself.

Hope thats of help just do a search onyoung league helpers history & you should find a number of websites with further information.
Good luck!
