Looking for any relatives of William Wignall b. 11th Feb 1867 in South Newsham, Northumberland who married Jane Sanderson Willey in 1895 in High Pittingdon. They had 6 children, Linda b. 1897, James b. 1898, John Willey b. 1900 in Shadforth, Co. Durham, Jane Sanderson b. 1901 in Shadforth, Ruby b. 1905 ( married ? Allen) and William b. 1909.
William b. 1867 was the son of William Wignall b. 1831 in Alfreton, Derbyshire and Elizabeth Smith b. 1836 in Alfreton. In 1881 & 1891 they were living in Sherburn, Co. Durham.

Geoff,
It is possible the Orchard family were from that area. All we know is that iit was somewhere in Southern England. Furthest back we've got at the moment is Joseph John Orchard b. 1902 Co. Durham, son of Joseph Orchard & Mary Selby. Can't find marriage cert. in this area for them. Family memories are of them coming into the North-East around late 1890's. Sorry to be so vague.

Hi Barney,
I think we may have a connection here somewhere, the ORCHAD & SELBY'S have a few marital connections.
My ORCHARDS are connected to Knighton ,Broadmayne,Chickerell & Portland in Dorset.
My main interest { gr Grandfather} left Dorset, sailed to Australia and married out here.
He was George ORCHARD, born 1853 in Chickerell to Thomas ORCHARD & Eliza GRANT, he had 9 siblings.
Some of these I have a bit of info on but there is a lot I'm missing from around the 1860's onward.
The fact that you have an ORCHARD & SELBY marriage ignites my interest to expand these lines and find out if there is a match.
