Hi,
I am trying to find the parents names and any other details (including siblings, if any) for an Emma JOHNSON born about 1852 in Shetland, Scotland. Emma married William RIGBY in the March quarter of 1873 in the Nantwich district of Cheshire, England.

Hi Ross. Sorry to say there are no Emma or Emily Johnson, Johnston or Johnstone's listed in either the 1851 or 1862 Shetland Census. Could she have had another name? Neil.

Hi Neil. Could you look up John Urquhart and Catherine (nee Park) who lived at Fetlar and North Yell. John died in Mexico in 1851 (presumably as a mariner) so may have missed the census. Catherine lived on until 1885 when she died at Feal, Fetlar. She was left with four children including my g grandfather James Sinclair Urquhart (born 1839 at Feal, Fetlar.
