Over the past 16 years I have acquired a large amount of books, fiche, cd’s etc concerning the Local History of Sussex, especially the Hastings and Lewes area's
MEMORIAL INSCRIPTIONS My personal database of Memorial inscriptions, (Lewes MI's complete with photographs), now amounts to some 8000+ entries - again, mostly in Lewes or Hastings, together with some Burial & Baptismal Register transcriptions. It includes: Lewes – St John Sub Castro (own transcription of 800 stones) Lewes – South Malling (Own transcription) Lewes – All Saints (Own transcription) Lewes – Southover (Own transcription) Hastings – All Saints (transcribed by Bax c.1890, 700 stones) Hastings – St Clements (transcribed by Bax in 1890) Hastings – Croft Chapel – Oldest Nonconformist in Hastings (46 monuments) Hastings - St Clements Church, Halton (own transcription 221 stones) Hastings - St Helens, Ore (own transcription with pictures, 166 monuments) Hastings - St Mary-in-the-Castle, Burials in the Crypt and Monumental Inscriptions (260 MI's) St Leonards on Sea - Burton Memorial Garden (68 monuments) Icklesham – (transcribed by G Slade Butler in 1862, 504 monuments) Rye Church and Yard – (transcribed in 1861) Rye Baptist Chapel – (transcribed c 1860, 78 monuments)
