When did your ancestor serve? as it might help to try and track down further information if we have an approximate date of his service.
Just a thought,Mick

Hi Sandra,
Here's another site,
http://www.regiments.org/regiments/uk/volmil-england/vcav/dorset.htm#history
I've had a quick look about on the net and info on the regiment does seem a bit lacking to say the least! It's a great shame but sadly it's the same for a lot of regiments, things are starting to get better though
My advice is that you contact the regimental museum because if anyone knows about the regimental history, they do!
Best of luck,Mick

Hello
Yes Mickey M has given you some good sites. My Grandfather served with the QODY & it was hard to find information. I am in Australia so it even harder to locate any thing however the Keep was able to sell me a copy of the regiments QODY cap badge & I located on the net an original copy of the QODY records from WWI. The book shop was "Woolcott Books" Kingston House, Higher Kingston, Near Dorchester DT2 8QE, Telephone: (0305) 267773. The author of the book was Major-General C.W.Thompson. Regards
David W
