I have Taylor links in Monzie, many in Monzie 1841 census. Also photos of Gravestones in Monzie High Kirk. Looking now for a Joseph Taylor, Mason possibly in Perth in 1841. Will exchange info. Thanks

Hi Deb & Colin, Do you have any links to the Blackford Taylors? I am the grandaughter of James ScobieTaylor who married Helen Taylor on 29 Apr 1803 in Blackford. James's father was Robert Taylor from Buttergask.
Regards, Scottietoo

Hi Scottietoo,
At the moment, I don't have any links to your Blackford Taylors, but you never know what future research might bring to light.
I am really quite stuck on my Taylor family. I have not been able to find Christian Taylor and her Husband Thomas Murray in any census. They were married in 1800, so my only hope may be the 1841 or 1851... but that's pushing it! I have also tried in vain to find Christian's death certificate, but nothing listed on Scotlands People. So she must have died before the beginning of Civil Reg. in 1855.
This is my brick wall family. And they seemed to move around a fair bit - married in Trinity Gask, children born in Fowlis Wester and Monzie, then another move possibly to Crieff, whick is where they may have been during the census of 1841.
Oh well, maybe someone else will recognise our families and hold some answers to our puzzles!
Deb

Dear Deb, What a co-incidence. I was born in Fowlis Wester in 1944 and one of my Taylor cousins lives there now. We have recently found a "cousin" in New Zealand. I am sorry to hear you have hit a brick wall on Christian. I think these taylors are probably all connected way back. My Father always said we were descended from Rob Roy MacGregor and we used to laugh but I recently found a Mac Gregor link.
Regards, Scottie in Cornwall

I have a Rev James Taylor who was the father of Marjory Taylor b. 1786 in Caputh, Perthshire. The Rev went to Virginia and that's all I know about him. Marjory married William Graham in Fife and I have all of that family, but know nothing of the Rev and his wife [possibly Isabel Steel].
I have been researching this Rev since 1979 when I inherited a family Bible with his details. So I'd be over the moon to find out anything at all.
