1841 &1851 CENSUS LOOKUP, ROSS & CROMARTY
« on: Monday 23 May 05 13:44 UTC (UK) »

Can any one provide census info for the following families in 1841 and 1851. William Jackson, crofter, and wife Janet (nee Jack?), ages unknown, and son James Jackson, agricultural labourer,  born about 1822, possibly Forres.
Jessie MacFarlane, born 1832 Rafford, housemaid, and parents John MacFarlane and Janet Tulloch. Thanks, Neil.

hiya i have spent all day on it and they are not in cromarty in 1841 or 1851, but they may be in other parts of ross and cromarty. I also checked all of ross and cromarty 1861 and they are not there either. If you need more help or ideas send me your email and i will give you some suggestions

Joshua,        Would you have 1841 census information for a Christy Cross
or Christiana Cross - she'd be 13 -17 yrs old.
Father Roderick Cross,    miller  b Contin    living in Kiltearn on 1851  (which I have)
Mother Ann                                b Fodarty,        Rosshire
and several children.

Thanks.

Hi Joshua.
You wouldn't by any chance have Neil Maclennan on the 1841. I cannot find him anywhere. He does turn up in Harris on the 1861 living with his wife Mary and their son Farquhar. As far as I know, he was born there and was married there too, but absolutely nothing before. He would be about 40 on the 1841
Cheers
Catherine
