I'm still trawling through the 1851 census in the areas concerned...but I don't mind someone finding him for me if they have better tools than I..........PLEASE
Matthew Bryant was my Gr Grandfather and this is who I am looking for in 1851

**Timothy Bryant the father appears to be no longer with us. A boarder by the name of George Shippard aged 38 who was born in Suffolk and is recorded as being a Carman is also there. ____________________________ 1883 26th May Eliza Bryant died at the age of 39 at home at 6 Green Hundred Road, Peckham, Camberwell. Eliza is stated as being 39 years of age and her husband Matthew a labourer at the gasworks was in attendance at time of death. The cause of death was something like Th?hisis pulmonalis. ------------------------------------------------------- 1888 Matthew died aged 46 according to the records, in the district of Camberwell which includes Peckham, GRO ref June quarter of 1888, volume 1d, page 436..... -------------------------------- 1891 St Mary's Orphanage, Heston, Isleworth, Brentford, Middlesex RG12/1025 folio 127 page 5 Thomas Bryant scholar 12 Camberwell, Surrey James " " 9 " " *this is a Catholic Orphanage which is not surprising as both their parents were more than likely to be of Irish descent. ------------------------------------------------------ 1891 1891 St Pancras 23 Maitland Park Villas Emma Bryant is seen living and working as a general servant aged 17 born Peckham, London ------------------------------------------------------- 1887 Edward John Bryant married Mary Sullivan in 1887 at Camberwell, Surrey...Dec qtr, vol 1d, page 1426 ------------------------------------------------------- 1891 19 Ledbury Street, Peckham, Camberwell, Surrey Edward Bryant head 25 boiler fitter Peckham, London Mary " wife 26 " " Johanna Sulivan wife's mother 45 (wid) living on her own means Cork, Ireland ------------------------------------------------------- 1901 4 Ledbury Street, Peckham, Camberwell, Surrey Edward J Bryant head 35 mechanical engineer factory Peckham, London Mary " wife 36 " " Johanna Sullivan mother in law 65 (wid) market gardener Ireland ------------------------------------------------------- 1891 137 Cold Harbour Lane, Lambeth Martha Bryant serv 19 domestic servant Camberwell --------------- 1891 Camberwell Infirmary (Union work house) RG12/472 William Bryant 23(s) general labourer Camberwell --------------- Thomas when he joined the Army in 1898 stated his next of kin as.. 2 brothers older, Mathew and Edward, the former residing at 56 Selcester Street, Harrow Road, Paddington, Middlesex, 1 brother (younger) James. 1 sister Elizabeth. Thomas did not appear to have a brother named Matthew? in the 1871 census the oldest child was Edward aged 4, the Matthew quoted must have been a cousin?
However their is this one... 1901 30 Dale Street, Newington, Walworth, Surrey Matthew Bryant head 27 woodchopper Peckham Jane " wife 25 Walworth Emily " daur 3 " Mary " " 2 " Ann " " 11 months " ------------ A Matthew Bryant married either Jane Davy or Maud Marion Hobbs at St Saviour Southwark in the Dec qtr of 1896, vol 1d, page 451.
