Hi
How far back do the Fiche go? As I'm looking for Pridie / Preedy's before 1800.
Regards, Andrew

Hi Andrew
There must have been some trouble with the OXF pages yesterday as I was unable to access them & even left a message for you but it didnt register
My set of fiche go from the 1500's to the 1900's here is an extract
10 SEP 1717 Francis s/o Jno Pridie 7 AUG 1719 Eliz: d/o John " 16 SEP 1723 Abigale d/o John " 30 DEC 1748 Frances d/o Francis Pridie 17 AUG 1752 Wm. s/o Francis/Mary " 18 OCT 1795 John s/o James/Elizabeth {Pridie
That's as late as the Pridie baps go but the baps start earlier than 1717 - I have the Mar's & BUR's as well
I hope this helps you a bit
All the very best
Phil

Hi
Thanks, I'm a descendent of John (18 OCT 1795 John s/o James/Elizabeth), I don't suppose there are any details of James and or Elizabeth and / or sibblings on the fiche?
There are a few details here: http://trees.ancestry.co.uk/pt/person.aspx?tid=130792&pid=-2121789634#
Thanks, Againm Andrew

Hi Andrew
Will have another look for you but I doubt it as I think I sent you all from 1700 to the last bap - but there may be something in the MARs or BURs
All the very best

Thanks again , had a quick quick on Familysearch which hints Elizabeth what the daughter of John b c1742 and Ann, in turn the son of Edward & Rose....
I guess it's time to pop along to the Oxfordshire Family History Society and have a browse / spend a few pennies.
Regards, Andrew

Hi Andrew
These are all the marriages on my set of fiche for Charlbury 1559 William Priddie = Alice ________ 28 APR 1572 Thomas Priddie = Ann Sheppe 1 JUN 1573 Thomas Skace = Elizabeth Predi 15 SEP 1573/4 Peter Preddi = Joan Jates 1 MAY 1578 Giles Camden = Joan Priddie 11 AUG 1589 Abraham Harris = Joyce Priddie 10 JUL 1656 William Pridey = Vines Bailey (this isnt a typo) 27 NOV 1684 Edward Williams = Elizabeth Pridie -- ---- 1713 John Pridie = Anne North
if you send me an e mail I can let you have the burials at a later date (as attachment to an e mail) as there are stacks on the fiche's & far to many for me to type out on these pages as my net access is limited to 1 hour a day at my local library - I'm philheeks[at]yahoo[dot]co[dot]uk

Yes very interested in a Richard Carpenter, born about 1775 married to a Maria ? Lived and worked as a glovemaker/breeches maker in Charlbury. I wonder if he is recorded in births or marriages at Charlbury. Most of his offspring appear to have been born in Banbury - but you never know. I have no idea where he originated form. Brick wall.

Hi MUMPHJAM
This is all I could get from Charlbury parish register transcript on fiche
BAPs
26 DEC 1756 Rich s/o Thos/Ann Carpenter 12 MAR 1820 Richard s/o Thomas/MAry Ann Carpenter (LAB) [Finstock]
BUR
27 JUN 1826 Richard Carpenter aged 69
There is no MAR for him at Charlbury
neither is there a BAP for him at Chipping Norton (I have those BAP & BUR fiches as well)
Sorry that this is no help to you but hope it may fit in some time
All the very best
Phil

Thank you very much for your input , my problem is the commonality of Carpenters about Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire/Warwickshire. I wasn't aware of those dates. Would they be buried at Charbury Church? Who would know? Any transcriptions of monuments? - Thanks again

The BURs would be for Charlbury churchyard
I dont have a list of MIs but its worth getting in touch with OXF FHS as another member who is more local to the area may be able to help you with the MIs
All the very best

Hi Phil
Could you do a look-up for me? I found in the Archdeaconary Marriage Bonds listing one for the marriage Edward Flexney of Witney & Sarah Green of Chadlington at Charlbury in 1752. Could you check if the wedding took place & if the register has any further information?
Thanks
Steve
