Hi Steve
here is what I found on my fiches
Edward Flaxenye [of Witny] = Sarah Green [of Chadlington] on 21 JUN 1752 by Licence
May I sugest if you want to follow up these lines at Whitney or Chadlington you have a look at the web site for Oxford FHS as they have most of the county covered & are very up to date
All the very best

Thanks Phil
I had always assumed the marriage took place, but nice to have confirmation. The strange thing is that Edward doesn't get baptised until 1759 (along with several of his children), aged 26. I think he must have come from a Quaker family - there were several Flexney Quaker families about, but I havn't found a birth record yet.
I used to be a member of the OFHS many years ago when I first started my research - I'll catch up whats available from the website as you suggest

Brand new chat-er so sure this is probably the wrong protocol! please tell me! I am trying to post a message/ request for a look-up in the Charlbury PRs. I believe the family of Peter HENSHER were in Charlbury from c.1750 to the beginning of the 1800s. Would it be an impossible task to ask what baptisms there were for this name during that period? I am also desperate to know what occupation they were following - too much to hope that occupations were recorded I suppose? I would be most grateful for any help or pointers please! Many thanks Bev Robertson nee Hensher

Thank you! It appears that Peter is the only member of the family who did not stay in London during this period. I'm hoping to find that Peter was a tobacco pipe maker and something that mentions Huguenot descent! Do you know if Settlement records survive for this period in Charlbury? Many thanks in anticipation! Bev Robertson
