Hi,
can anyone help me with my search for my Cartwright family? My gg grandfather was George Dawson Cartwright (b. Birmingham 1850) He married Emma Wiggin in 1872 in Handsworth. They had 11 children
George H - b. 1873
Francis Edgar- b.1875 (married Honoria Florence Smith, 1899)
Frederick Alfred - b.1876
Beatrice Emma - b.1878
Amy Jane - b.1879
Florence Louisa - b.1883
Ernest Percy - b.1884 (my g grandfather - married Amy ENSOR, 1904)
Ada Bertha - b.1886
Gertrude Alice - b.1888
Rose Lily - b.1890
Walter - b.1893
By my reckoning, I should have hundreds of relations out there, yet only know of a couple. I'm also having trouble getting much further back - I know George Dawson's father was George also (b. 1816, Birmingham - married Sarah Underhill, then Diana Lowe) but can't find his father.
I would be very grateful for any info. on these Cartwrights.

Thanks Emma & Peter for your replies - I have most of the census returns for George Cartwright, but it always helps when others confirm your information - at least I know I'm on the right track! His children are very elusive though! Too many Cartwright's in Birmingham!
