Hi,
George HUGHES married Sarah GOODMAN in 1838 Ludlow.
Children,
Ann Cecilia HUGHES born 1838 Ludlow
Margaret HUGHES born 1840 Ludlow
Would someone please look for them on the 1841 or 1851 census.

I recently checked the 1841 but I’m afraid I didn’t find the Hughes family. I would add that just a few pages of the 1841 are virtually impossible to read and so I can’t guarantee 100% they aren’t there.

I’ve got a number of searches to do for the 1851 Ludlow census and hope to be able to sort them out next week. Hopefully, I’ll have more success for you.

Checking the 1851 census I’ve found the following Hughes family:

H0107/1982/301 28
Address: Lower Goalford, Ludlow. Parish of St. Lawrence

George – Head – Widr – 32 – Harness Maker (journeyman) – Ireland
Margaret – Daur – 11 – Salop, Ludlow
George – Son – 7 – Worcester, St. Nicholas

It contains a George (albeit a bit young) and a daughter Margaret of the right age. Afraid I didn’t find any other possibilities.

Thanks for this. Can't be sure if these are mine with the little information I have. But the Worcester link is interesting as my Margaret Hughes married in Old Swinford to a Benjamin Westwood.
