I'm trying to find my great great grandfather's family. I know he was born in Lenham, Kent in 1865/6.
He is a John Smith, son of Horace. Would appreciate any info as i live in Yorkshire and census / parish records are unavailable for down there, up here.

I have looked for these people as a family unit in 1861 without success. However, I have noticed the following 19 year old Charlotte with a baby son William in Lenham which may be relevant

This could be Horace in 1861 but I can't be certain:

Here's an entry from the 1841 census showing a 2 year old 'Haratio', which might be your Horace, I've checked the whole of Lenham and there's no entry for a Horace Smith.

Hi,
Here's the same family on the 1851, and Haratio has become Horace:
ref HO107 1618 folio 233: Woodside Green Lenham
Stephen Smith head mar age 59 ag lab
Elizabeth do wife mar age 49
John do son age 18 ag lab
James do son age 16 Bailiff boy ag lab
Elizabeth do dau age 13 scholar
Horace do son age 12
Thomas do son age 9 scholar
Edwin do son age 6 scholar
George do grandson age 6 scholar
William do grandson age 2
All shown as born in Lenham. Just realised that Horace was at Woodside Green on the 1871, so almost certainly the right family.

Yes, we appear to have the same ancestry. My ancestor was Charlotte Clements who married Horace Smith. I have yet to get their marriage certificate to confirm their parents.
Charlotte was born in Wichling and the census records i've been sent in the attached links suggest the parents were Joseph and Charlotte.
Have you done much more research on the family?

I managed to find my clements family tree going back to Thomas Clements born 1695 Kent married to Philadelphia Page born 1699 Preston kent He would have been charlottes G,G,Grandfather Charlotte was my grandfathers auntie his name was Ernest Clements and his father was Charles Clements who was Charlottes brother
