Inquest into death
« on: Thursday 26 May 05 13:09 UTC (UK) »

Ernest Wright drowned in the River Trent 24th June 1940.  An Inquest was held 26th June in Nottingham South. Can anyone please tell me where I maybe able to find the details of this Inquest? Also what newspaper could it be reported in?
Many thanks

I do like people who put where they live on their profile.

As you live in Ireland I will look into it for you. I am going to Nottingham Central Library tomorrow. I haven't been there before for Local Studies so I don't know the set up. They do have films of back copies of the Nottingham Evening Post and that is certainly where it would have been reported so I will have a look for you.

A more official route, though I don't know if they would charge, would be to contact the Coroner Service, 50 Carrington Street, Nottingham. Tel: 0115 9412322 or Fax 0115 9500141. I,m sure its worthwhile writing to them or making the call. At least you would also find out for your Newcastle under Lyme query aswell.
