WISHER/WISHEAR interests
« on: Thursday 26 May 05 21:17 UTC (UK) »

Just to let everyone know my interest in Lincolnshire.

I'm doing what's called a one name study of my Mum's maiden name, WISHER.  I have an  extensive database on the various families who branched off from the core group in Nottinghamshire.

I have 2 distinct WISHER groups in Lincolnshire:
1) John WISHER & Elizabeth MORRIS married in Spalding in 1819.  John was originally from Burton Joyce, Notts, and this was his 3rd marriage.  Most of their descendants settled in the Spalding, Grimsby, Cleethorpes & Hull areas.
2) James WISHER & Susannah WINDY married in 1798 in Weston.  One of their possible descendants used WISHEAR as his surname, settling in Boston.  Francis Morley WISHEAR was born in 1830 and married Ann ?...don't know where, don't know when.  In the 1861 census, they are living with their 3 children in Boston - Rosamond Annie, Mirriam Jane & Henry G. J. (a.k.a. Morley).

Any information, particularly on the WISHEAR family, would be gratefully received.
