john muscutt 1841/1851/1861 /census
« on: Friday 27 May 05 20:47 BST (UK) »

I am trying to trace John Muscutt born around 1831 in Coventry. I have him as a boarder on his own in 1871 at Monks coppenhall Cheshire, with a family of Bournes. Trying to trace his earlier history - I have posted a similar request on the Warks board.
Thank you
Caroline

What is his occupation?   Any idea of who he married?  Do you have a marriage certificate with father's name on?   Every snippet of information helps.

Hi Andrea - I am right at the thin end of this one. here is why I am interested - I am researching the Bourne family (maternal tree) and in a family bible of Bournes and Bells there is a mysterious entry for a John Tomlinson in 1873-nobody knew of this name and why he was significant. The 1871 Census for my family showed that a john muscutt was lodging with James and Ann Bourne at 11 Martin St, Monks Coppenhall Cheshire (born 1831 Coventry). Further research has found that a John tomlinson married Clara Muscutt in 1873 in Tunstall. The 1881 Census has Clara and John Tomlinson at 9 Forge St Monks Coppenhall Cheshire, despite the fact that they married in Tunstall in Staffs in 1873. I am just trying to establish the link between my Bourne family and the Muscutt/Tomlinson line - were they just friends or was there a more common interest? Must have been significant enough for the entry to appear in the family bible for the Bourne family!!
Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Huh Huh Smiley
