Had A Go At Adding An Image To My Profile....A Success/Vanishes/Returns!

Hello To All RootsChat Members,

Here I am having a go for the first time, in adding an image hopefully to my 'Profile', but will probably only be attached to the body of the message.

Modified Message:
I did send the image attachment but it was too large, and it did end up in the body of the message so I have deleted it.  I will have to go back and read the other postings again (on How to Add Images), and think things over.

I now have a successful result in adding an image to my Profile.
Thank you to the previous postings on various Topics by Berlin-Bob, Fittygen and Trystan.

After reading these postings:
*  First I found my desired image.
*  Gave it a transparent background.
*  Got the measurements correct etc.
From 'MS Publisher',  copied to 'Corel Print House' which allowed me to save to my Documents, altered background to Transparency through 'Claris Home Page' (Website Creator) and then 'Irfanview' for resizing etc.

After a few test runs, I was now ready to add the Image to my Profile.  After having checked that all was where it should be, my final step was to go back into Modify / 'Additional Options' and uncheck the box to remove the Image from the body of this topic, just to tidy up.
Hope my experience assists others in their endeavours.

Hello To All RootsChat Members,

It was a success / then it vanished / hopefully it remains!

Since 28th May 2005, I have had a picture in the Profile, for some reason it has been disappearing, about 3 times now.  I was able to get it back again for the second time yesterday, but now it has gone again.  There just has to be something wrong, and at the moment I am unable to work out why it keeps vanishing. 


However I have just tried something different:
*    'PROFILE'
*    'FORUM PROFILE INFORMATION'
*    (clicked on) 'I will upload my own Crest'
*    (clicked) 'Browse'
*    Found My File - opened it
*    (clicked) 'Change Profile' (this time it uploaded again).

Hopefully this time it remains.

hmmm I've tried this exact sequence a trillion times and it fails to load
cannot even alter the list of names!
