David Armstrong of Canonbie
« on: Sunday 29 May 05 04:03 UTC (UK) »

Does anyone have any information on a David Armstrong from Canonbie? David had a child in 1888  with a Mary Little.  The child was my Grandmother and her name was Hannah. I believe David died in Canonbie sometime between 1888 and 1910.  Any and all information would be appreciated.  Thank you for taking the time to read this.

'Have you tried http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ for David's death?

That should give you his parents including mother's maiden name.

Did David & Mary marry?

What information do you have on David?  Occupation?  That way we could see who on the 1881 ties in or do you already have the 1881 information?

Thank you for the e-mail.  Mary did not Marry David.  I do have the 1881 Census.  There are quite a few David Amstrong's on the Census, so no way to tell which one is correct.  David was a coalminer.  There was one David Armstrong who was 22 years old on the 1881 Census, however, there is no trace of him after this date.  Thank you again.
