Very Good condition bible. Contains birth marriage & death entries for the family of James White and his wife, Mary Ann (AKA Marianne) Holsey. Date range of entries: 1874-1914.
The couple were both born in Norfolk, and the children born Durham, but James & children returned to Norfolk after Mary Ann's death in the mid 1880's. In 1891 the family were living with Mary Ann's parents, William Holsey and Charlotte (née Girling) in Hindolveston, Norfolk.
The children in the bible are: William John White (1874), Agnes White (1876), Caroline White (1877), Sophia White (1879) & Rachel Ann White (1882).
There are marriage dates for Caroline and Rachel, and the deaths of James, Mary Ann & Agnes Elizabeth.
I have made contact with someone online who is descended from Mary Ann's sister regarding this bible, but I would prefer to sell to a direct descendant, who would get the most benefit from it.
I have completed a considerable amount of research on this family in order to help me identify any descendants, and I will include all available prints & data with the bible.

Hello, Very interested to read about your bible. I am from Norfolk, and descended from the Holseys. I write a regular column for a magazine called Norfolk Roots, I don't know if you've heard of it! I am planning to do my next article on the side of my family that comes from Hindolveston (Becketts and Holseys) and on the history of the village. I am currently on half term, so am trying to get as much done as possible now! I am descended from Mary Ann Holsey's (daughter of William and Charlotte nee Girling) sister, Margaret (her illegitamate daughter, Agnes, is my great great grandmother). I haven't got all my information with me at the moment, unfortunately, but in one of the census' (1881)Agnes is living with William and Charlotte in Hindolveston - her mother is working elsewhere, I believe, but again will have to check! I noticed that you mentioned someone descended from one of Mary Ann's sisters also contacted you - I would be interested to contact them as we should be related! I am also intrigued to know how you come to posess the bible - are you also related to this family? Thanks very much for your time, I'm looking forward to your reply! Poppy Jones

Off the top of my head, I can't remember which of Mary Ann's siblings my contact is descended from. She did contact me recently enquiring about the bible and if it was still available... I'll root out the details and pass them on if that's OK with her.
I came by the bible at a book sale, and I felt compelled to buy it, partly because of its general historical value and my fascination for finding out who the people in it were, and partly because I intended to ultimately try to reunite it with its family.... which is where all family bibles belong!
I have no personal connection to the Holseys/Whites

Thanks for your reply. I take it the bible is still available for sale? I would be very grateful if you could find details on your contact - my possible relative! I am happy for you to pass on my details to her so that she can contact me. Many thanks, Poppy Jones
